Visit
the beautiful town of Shelburne, home of the famous Shelburne
Dory nestled on a beautiful natural harbour. The town was founded in 1783
by approximately 10,000 United Empire and Black Loyalists who arrived on vessels
from New York. Today, the town is much smaller (pop. 2245), but there are many
historical reminders of the loyalist founders. You may want to discover the history
of Shelburne, swim in the ocean
or attend one of our many festivals. On a leisurely stroll through the Historic
Waterfront you will find galleries, antique and gift shops, restaurants,
kayak and bike rentals, a marina and an arts centre. |
